Transparency is key to the success of the Bailout and related loans and investments the government makes with our tax dollars. Without complete transparency, we will get from our government what we always get when it comes to finances, confusion. To do my part, I’ve worked with the folks at Sharesleuth.com to create Bailoutsleuth.com
Its job is simple, keep an eye on our taxpayer dollars and call Bullshit when necessary.

GQ has some good pictures of the movers-n-shakers from this year’s election.

Michelle Bachman, I believe, was a final remnant of the anti-intellectualism and bully-politics that Jesse Ventura rode into office, that Norm Coleman capitalized on (with the help of GWB who made many visits to MN) when he ran one of the most cynical campaigns in history, and that so much of suburban Twin Cities voters seem captivated by.
There is no doubt in my mind that there is a direct link between the suburbanization of Minnesota and the deterioration of the public education system with the state moving more and more to the right. If you leave the first ring suburbs of the Twin Cities, McMansions, Super Churches, Wal Marts, and every other cliche of American Beauty abounds.
And how has Minnesota been re-paid on the national level? By having two representatives, Coleman and Bachman, two complete marks for this administration, make utter fools of themselves time-after-time.
Bachman in this instance, the kissing of GWB, and embarrassing interview after embarrassing interview. And let us not forget Coleman’s moment of glory… being scoreboarded by George Galloway, a British MP who flew all the way from England only to shame Coleman like a thief walking into church.

I hope this year Minnesotans can take their state back. The long tradition of progressives is to rich too watch become bankrupt like this.

Photojojo suggests that we dump food on our faces and take pictures. This is the tame cousin of bukkake porn.

I’m doing this to all the ones in my pocket. I got lots of them because I work as a male stripper at night.

When the government provides for these things, it may be engaging in what we can call government supererogation. Which acts we’d label as examples of government supererogation will depend on which theories of justice and goodness we accept. While there is disagreement over these theories, and thus disagreement over which specific acts are supererogatory, I believe most people would identify some acts as fitting into the category. Taken together, these acts may consume a substantial amount of public resources and attention.

If you didn’t catch Barak Obama at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner, I’d recommend checking it out. He’s quite funny.
To be fair, McCain like this is much more likeable than the over-handled McCain we see on the campaign trail and the debates.

C’mon, how’s that racist.
The illustration shows the Democratic presidential candidate’s head atop a donkey’s body on a bogus $10 bill referred to as “Obama Bucks.” Inscribed on the money are the words “United States Food Stamps” surrounded by stereotypical African American food.
